Stem & Stone is a collection of handcrafted and globally sourced jewelry centered on uncommon stones, vintage pearls, and natural materials.
We are drawn to materials that reveal the visible evidence of invisible processes: the glow of vintage pearls, the fire within opal, the blue flash of moonstone, the remarkable clarity of crystal. Each bears witness to forces beyond human scale—geological time, transformation, growth, and light.
The collection exists at the intersection of matter and meaning. Objects chosen for their color, form, luminosity, and history, and for the sense of wonder they inspire.
The most meaningful objects are often those
that resonate deeply, long before we know why.
Stones & Pearls
At the heart of the collection are stones and pearls.
We are fascinated by the ethereal perfection found in nature—the glow of nacre, the blue flash of moonstone, the remarkable clarity of crystal. Materials that reveal more the longer they are observed.
Drawn to luminosity, color, and natural variation, we are endlessly captivated by objects that seem to exist somewhere between matter and light, and by the quiet sense of connection they inspire to the natural world and the forces that shape it.
Every collection begins with recognition.
SOURCING
Our materials are sourced from trusted wholesalers, vintage collections, gem and mineral shows, independent dealers, and small-scale makers around the world.
Each stone, pearl, and mineral is selected individually for its color, character, rarity, or natural formation. Some are discovered through travel and field collecting in the Pacific Northwest; others are sourced through long-standing supplier relationships. We work with suppliers who prioritize responsible sourcing practices.
We curate materials slowly and intentionally. Only a small number become part of the collection.
Resonance
Meditation has taught us that attention changes perception.
Across cultures and centuries, people have carried stones and pearls as objects of memory, protection, and transformation. We are interested less in symbolism than in resonance—the quiet pull certain objects seem to possess.
Whether understood as intuition, memory, frequency, or simply aesthetic attraction, some materials have a way of finding us when we are ready to notice them.
Origins
Stem & Stone arose from a life long fascination with design & art, geology and the colors, forms, and patterns found in the natural world. Through years of photography, travel, styling homes, collecting, rockhounding with my daughters, and working with gemstones in my meditation practice, I became fascinated with the ways objects gather meaning over time.

These are the objects I would reach for if my house were on fire. They carry traces of who we have been, where we have traveled, and what we have loved. That connection to time, place, and story is at the heart of Stem & Stone.
The collection grew from a desire to bring uncommon materials into everyday life—vintage pearls with luminous nacre, gemstones chosen for their color and geological histories, and precious metals arranged in simple forms that allow the material itself to speak.
